If you cannot remember your password for Yahoo Mail and want to reset your password, follow the screens below.

Step 1 – Visit Yahoo Mail homepage

Go to the Yahoo Mail Homepage by entering www.yahoomail.com into your web browser

Step 2  – Enter your email address

After entering your email address, click the Next button. 

Step 3 – Locate the “I forgot my password” link

You will be asked for your password. If you don’t remember your password, click on the I forgot my password link in the center of the screen under the Sign In button.

Step 4 – Options of verification

Once on this page, you are given options 2 options. To receive a verification message via your mobile device with the numbers ending with the numbers displayed on the page. If you have access to the device, click the Yes, text me an Account Key. If you don’t have access to the device, click the other button and then follow the steps Option B.

Step 5 – Verify your account

You will receive an text message in your sms inbox containing a code to ‘Verify your account‘. Copy and paste the code into the requested field and click the Verify button.

Step 6 – Notification of success

Your account is verified and you are now signed into your account. You can now create a new password.

Step 7 – Create strong new password

You will be sent to a page that contains a form with fields that allow you to set a new password. Make sure that you generate a strong new password you will remember, and enter it into the fields presented then click the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 8 – Update notification

Your password will be updated and you are given option to update a few other details. If all is okay, click the ‘Looks good’ button.

Step 9 – Finally, access your Yahoo Mail account

Once done, your security settings will be saved and you can now log into your account using your new password.

Option B (Follow off Step 4)

This option is the one you take when you don’t have access to the mobile device. This option you can reset you password via your email.

Step 5 – Email reset password option

This will allow you to use another email account that you have access to then you can reset you password via email.

Step 6 – Verification message

On this page, to receive a verification message via your email with the missing characters displayed on the page. If you have access to the email, click the Yes, send me an Account Key.

Step 7 – Copy passcode

You will receive an email in your email inbox containing a code to ‘Reset Your Password‘.

Step 8 – Paste passcode

Copy and paste the code into the requested field and click the Continue button to verify your account.

Step 9 – Notification of success

Your account is verified and you are now signed into your account. You can now create a new password.

Step 10 – Create strong new password

You will be sent to a page that contains a form with fields that allow you to set a new password. Make sure that you generate a new password you will remember, and enter it into the fields presented then click the ‘Continue’ button.

Step 11 – Proceed if all “Looks good”

Your password will be updated and you are given option to update a few other details. If all is okay, click the ‘Looks good’ button.

Step 12 – Finally, access your Yahoo Mail account

Once done, your security settings will be saved and you can now log into your account using your new password.
